{"id":10031,"date":"2019-08-13T11:05:17","date_gmt":"2019-08-13T09:05:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/exito-de-los-jugadores-locales-en-el-iv-torneo-de-golf-villa-de-mojacar-bridgestone\/"},"modified":"2019-08-14T08:36:18","modified_gmt":"2019-08-14T06:36:18","slug":"local-players-come-to-the-fore-al-the-iv-torneo-de-golf-villa-de-mojacar-bridgestone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/local-players-come-to-the-fore-al-the-iv-torneo-de-golf-villa-de-mojacar-bridgestone\/","title":{"rendered":"Local players come to the Fore  at the IV golf Villa de Moj\u00e1car-Bridgestone"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The annual \u2018IV Torneo de Golf Villa de Moj\u00e1car\u2019 was recently held at the Marina Golf Course at Marina de la Torre, with over sixty<br \/>\nlocal and holidaying players enjoying a full day of competitive sport.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This summer tournament is organised by Moj\u00e1car Council\u2019s Sports Department, along with Bridgestone and Marina Golf Moj\u00e1car, with the action taking place on this spectacularly situated course with its Mediterranean views, designed by Ram\u00f3n Espinosa.<br \/>\nIt was a Stableford competition, the most common in club tournaments, as it allows a freer game in which the golfer can &#8220;pick up\u201d their ball when all their available strokes for the hole have been taken.  Top in the first category, for those with handicaps between 0 and 19 came Ignacio Domingo Real from Madrid, with 38 points, followed by Jer\u00f3nimo Gomato Mart\u00ednez, with 37 points. The second category, for those with handicaps from 19 to 36, was commanded by local players with   Francisco Sorroche Garc\u00eda in first position with 46 points, followed by Juan Pedro Fren\u00e1ndez Flores with 41 points. The scratch prize went to Esteban Pacios Herrad\u00f3n and, as usual there were prizes for the longest drive and the ball nearest to the pin.<br \/>\nLocal Sports Councillor, Ana Garc\u00eda, presented the trophies, along with the Marina Golf. Director, Kirk Lovell, at the Hotel Marina Mar where cocktails were served to all participants.
