{"id":10419,"date":"2019-10-14T18:43:21","date_gmt":"2019-10-14T16:43:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/campana-dona-vida-al-planeta-mojacar\/"},"modified":"2019-10-15T10:32:25","modified_gmt":"2019-10-15T08:32:25","slug":"mojacar-takes-on-the-dona-vida-al-planeta-environmental-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/mojacar-takes-on-the-dona-vida-al-planeta-environmental-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"Moj\u00e1car takes on the \u201cDona vida al planeta\u201d Environmental Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Moj\u00e1car has joined a regional \u201csave the Planet\u201d campaign that will run over the next two months, promoting the reuse and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment and, raising awareness on the its importance to society and the planet.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In Moj\u00e1car, two environmental specialists have been welcomed by the local Councillor responsible for such issues, Emmanuel Ag\u00fcero, who will be around the town and the beach areas, handing out brochures and giving out general information to residents and visitors.  Their aim is to impress on the public the advantages of correct waste management as well as the avoidance of accumulating old technological items in the home.<br \/>\nIt is estimated that each year we all generate about 5 kilos of technological waste and in last year\u2019s campaign, 42 million kilos were recovered, approximately 20 million more than in 2015, which the specialists consider a major change in awareness.<br \/>\nAll appliances are manufactured with raw materials obtained from the environment, many of which are non-renewable, although through recycling, materials such as copper or aluminium can be reused for other new products.
