{"id":10522,"date":"2019-11-21T19:07:46","date_gmt":"2019-11-21T17:07:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/?p=10522"},"modified":"2019-11-21T19:07:46","modified_gmt":"2019-11-21T17:07:46","slug":"mojacar-la-vieja-on-show-at-granada-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/mojacar-la-vieja-on-show-at-granada-university\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Moj\u00e1car la vieja&#8221; on show at Granada University\u00b4s Faculty of Philosophy and Arts."},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Over 100 photographs capturing the archaeological works carried out in Moj\u00e1car over the last two summers are currently on exhibition at Granada University.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The 125 images were taken by Emilio Aramburu during the excavation campaigns on Moj\u00e1car la Vieja and, they are a vibrant representation of the human aspect of the archaeological procedures that are involved in such a project.<br \/>\nThe exhibition was inaugurated on November 18th by Jos\u00e9 Antonio P\u00e9rez Tapias, Dean of the Granada University\u2019s Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, along with the Director of Excavations, Dr. Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Civantos. It will be open until January 15th in the busy faculty refectory, which is in daily use by its 7,000 students and 300 professors.<br \/>\nThe exhibition, where some of the excavation team are on hand to discuss their work, also features spectacular 3D photographs taken by the Moj\u00e1car based sculptor, Roberto Manzano.<br \/>\nThe Moj\u00e1car la Vieja archaeological works are being promoted and financed by Moj\u00e1car Council in coordination with the Biocultural Laboratory of Archaeology at Granada University and with the collaboration of the Valpara\u00edso Foundation.<br \/>\n\tIn the two campaigns that have been carried out so far on this ancient settlement and fortress, more than two hundred students and professionals have taken part, together with volunteers from Moj\u00e1car and across the region.<br \/>\nAramburu, armed with his camera, set out to focus on those that played a leading role as well as the many different characters involved as these archaeological works progressed, which required physical strength, combined with meticulous care and caution.
