{"id":10791,"date":"2020-01-14T11:05:01","date_gmt":"2020-01-14T09:05:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/seleccion-andaluza-iaido-entrenamiento-mojacar\/"},"modified":"2020-01-17T11:03:49","modified_gmt":"2020-01-17T09:03:49","slug":"andalucian-iaido-japanese-sword-squad-trains-mojacar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/andalucian-iaido-japanese-sword-squad-trains-mojacar\/","title":{"rendered":"Andalucian Iaido japanese sword squad trains in Moj\u00e1car"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Moj\u00e1car\u2019s Municipal Sports Centre was the venue for the first training session of the Andaluc\u00edan Iaido team recently, in preparation for the Spanish championships in April.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\tIaido is a Japanese martial art involving the ability to quickly unsheathe and sheathe the Japanese katana curved sword, a skill once practiced by samurai. These techniques enable attack and defence at the same time, with a speed that sets out to leave their opponent with no time to react.<br \/>\n20 Kenshi swords people from the Andaluc\u00edan team, including members of the National Iaido squad, came together under the organization of Javier Tirado, a European and Spanish Champion and Andaluc\u00edan Director. Also, there to direct proceedings was collaborator, Karl Gibbons, a 5th Dan with international experience and as a former manager and coach, as well as collaborator and event organiser now that he spends his retirement time in Moj\u00e1car.<br \/>\n\tThe local Councillors for Tourism and Sports, Emmanuel Ag\u00fcero and Ana Garc\u00eda, acted as hosts on the day and were keen to discuss with Javier and Karl future training in Moj\u00e1car, as well as support the Andaluc\u00edan selection with its high number of Almer\u00edan participants.
