{"id":16548,"date":"2021-11-24T17:50:40","date_gmt":"2021-11-24T15:50:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/?p=16548"},"modified":"2021-11-24T17:59:02","modified_gmt":"2021-11-24T15:59:02","slug":"concert-in-mojacar-in-honour-of-saint-cecilia-patron-saint-of-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/concert-in-mojacar-in-honour-of-saint-cecilia-patron-saint-of-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Concert in Moj\u00e1car in honour of Saint Cecilia Patron Saint of music."},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>To mark the celebration of Saint Cecilia, the Patron Saint of music, piano students from the Moj\u00e1car Municipal Music School performed a highly anticipated concert for residents.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\tAs has become usual, students from the school commemorate the day of their patron saint with a musical selection which this year was performed outdoors with the Plaza del Parterre as the setting for this much-loved event.<br \/>\n\tConducted by their teacher Yolanda Parra Niederhauser, the young pianists performed a complete repertoire, which included such well-known pieces as \u201cCharriots of Fire\u201d by Vangelis, \u201cLike Chopin\u201d by Gazebo, \u201cMariage d\u00b4amour\u201d by Richard Clayderman, \u201cRiver Flows in You\u201d by Yiruma and \u201cCoraz\u00f3n de ni\u00f1o\u201d by Raul Di Blasio, among others.<br \/>\n\tFor several years the piano school students have offered two concerts a year: in honour of Saint Cecilia, Patron Saint of music, and at Easter; both much-anticipated by residents of Moj\u00e1car, lovers of good music and always supporting and encouraging their young musicians. On this occasion, there were seven performers in the concert, aged between seven and 37.<br \/>\n\tYolanda Parra has for 15 years been in charge of teaching the very youngest, aged between three and seven, in the musical initiation classroom. She is also the Municipal Music School piano teacher.<br \/>\n\tTo learn this instrument, one of the most complete, 30 students have enrolled and attend the piano classes offered by this school.<br \/>\nThere are studied and prepared guidelines for each cycle. From the age of three to five, it is possible to attend the music and movement initiation classes.
