Almer\u00eda actress Eva Almaya, guest of honour at the 2nd \u201cCity of Moj\u00e1car\u201d Short Film Competition, was received by Moj\u00e1car Mayor Rosa Mar\u00eda Cano at the Town Hall and signed the local authority\u2019s book of honour.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\tIn the affectionate words that Eva Almaya wanted to record in the local council\u2019s book of honour, she highlighted her gratitude for the opportunity to relive many memories of so many summers spent in Moj\u00e1car, and where she was \u201cvery happy\u201d.
\n\tEva Almaya, trained at the Cristina Rota Acting School, has despite her youth a professional career as an actress of more than 20 years, both in cinema and television. Among her extensive work are well-known series such as \u201cCu\u00e9ntame\u201d, \u201c\u00c1guila Roja\u201d, \u201cLope Enamorado\u201d, \u201cArray\u00e1n\u201d, and many others that have filled her career with major successes and made her a much-loved actress, not only among the Almer\u00eda public.
\n\tNow, in addition to her acting work, she has extended her activity with the creation of her own production company, \u201cVeramaya Producciones\u201d, based in Almer\u00eda.
\n\tVeramaya Producciones is developing several projects, among them the full-length fiction film \u201cNana\u201d, by Liteo Pedregal, the series \u201cDragonas\u201d, which is an adaptation of an original Israeli series, and the theatrical production \u201cJuana\u201d, on tour throughout Spain.
\n\tEva Almaya made the most of her visit to Moj\u00e1car to carry out an affectionate scouting through the most emblematic places of the municipality\u2019s old town.
\n\tHer presence at the 2nd \u201cCity of Moj\u00e1car\u201d Short Film Competition was yet another attraction at this important cinematographic event in Almer\u00eda, that once again made the locality the focus of this industry in the province.
\n\tThe first day, one of the two planned in the programme, began in the morning with a tour around the CEIP and IES education centres, which became part of the competition through chats about the cinema industry today and a workshop in which there was a simulation of the filming of a movie scene.
\n\tIn the afternoon, the inaugural gala at the Multi-Uses Centres brought together representatives from the Almer\u00eda cinematographic world, as well as authors, actors from the competition\u2019s short films and a large audience.
\n\tCompetition director Antonio Casado spoke at the presentation, thanking the Andaluc\u00eda government, the Almer\u00eda Provincial Council and Moj\u00e1car Council for the support received to make it possible to bring about this initiative, a cultural offer \u201cwith selfless origins\u201d, and that has its continuity thanks to the good reception of the previous edition, as well as to the sponsors and collaborators, who have given their support for this event, and the people of Moj\u00e1car, connoisseurs and fans of cinema.
\n\tFor her part, the Moj\u00e1car Mayor confirmed the support of the local council for the continuity of this competition and the interest that, as has happened with only two editions, it makes Moj\u00e1car a reference point for directors and producers.
\n\tOn this first day the audience was able to watch the 11 short films presented in the competition, and on the last day the distinctions corresponding to the best short films in the categories \u201cPublic Vote\u201d and \u201cJury Vote\u201d were presented as the grand finale to this 2nd \u201cCity of Moj\u00e1car\u201d contest.
\n\tThe short film \u201cCampos Secretos\u201d received the professional jury prize, which Pete Beale received from Tourism Councillor Emmanuel Ag\u00fcero and from Eva Almaya.
\n\tPeter Beale, the short film director and scriptwriter, was the head of 20th Century Fox and EMI for a decade. He currently lives in Carboneras.
\n\t\u201cEnero del 66\u201d obtained the public award, which Culture Councillor, Raquel Belmonte, and competition Director, Antonio Casado, presented to Jaime Garc\u00eda Parra, short film director who has for nearly a decade been immersed in audio-visual productions in Almer\u00eda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
