{"id":23227,"date":"2024-03-21T11:44:46","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T09:44:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/?p=23227"},"modified":"2024-04-02T12:52:44","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T10:52:44","slug":"miracle-in-the-santa-maria-juana-convent-teather-mojacar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/miracle-in-the-santa-maria-juana-convent-teather-mojacar\/","title":{"rendered":"The play &#8220;Miracle in the Santa Mar\u00eda Juana Convent&#8221; premieres in Moj\u00e1car"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>As a prelude to the Easter Week holidays in Moj\u00e1car, this Saturday 22nd of March, and as part of the traditional programming for this time of year, Moj\u00e1car Council, through its Culture Department, has scheduled the premiere of a play by the local theatre group.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Titled, \u201cMilagro en el Convento de Santa Mar\u00eda Juana\u201d, (Miracle in the Santa Mar\u00eda Juana Convent), the Moj\u00e1car Aquelarre group will perform this comedy, performed in two acts, about the difficulties of a convent in the red. A little nun arrives at this such difficult time and turns everything upside down to reverse this situation through an elixir. A crazy comedy with historical figures that will entertain the audience with its fabulous wisecracks and great humour.<br \/>\nThe play will be performed this Saturday at the Multi-Uses Centre, starting at 9pm.<br \/>\nThe Moj\u00e1car Theatre Group has 20 actors, who currently have two plays on the bill. For the premiere of \u201cMilagro en el Convento de Santa Mar\u00eda Juana\u201d they will work under the direction of Joaqu\u00edn S\u00e1ez and with Antonio Casado as assistant director. Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Osorio will be the prompter and Jos\u00e9 Guijarro will be in charge of the sound and special effects.<br \/>\nThis theatre group has already performed with great success other works such as \u201cIndalo, Mensajero de los Dioses\u201d, (Indalo, Messenger of the Gods), \u201cLaura\u201d and \u201cUn Cad\u00e1ver a los Postres\u201d (A Corpse at Desserts), with which they have toured almost the entire province.<br \/>\nThey also regularly collaborate with the Red Cross, either by organising and directing a group of senior citizens from Moj\u00e1car for the creation of what has been called the Moj\u00e1car Seniors Theatre or by donating everything raised to this charitable association.<br \/>\nAmong their short-term future projects is the performance of the Passion of Christ in Easter Week 2025. An original version with live songs.<br \/>\nThey will also soon start rehearsals for \u201cLas Criadas\u201d (The Maids), as well as the play \u201cLa Dama del R\u00edo Aguas\u201d (The Lady of the River Aguas), a tale about the Moj\u00e1car Aguas River.<br \/>\nThe group started out in 2012 and the first play they performed was \u201cIndalo, Messenger of the Gods\u201d, loosely based on the legend of the Indalo.
