Of the nine teams presented, eight have gone on to the final and of the four individuals who went to Garrucha, three have qualified.
As well as the classification for the final by most of the teams and the gymnasts of the Mojácar team, they brought home seven medals: silver for the “alevin” (under-12) team and for Pilar Aguado in the “benjamin” (under-10) individual category; three gold for the benjamin and cadet teams and for Nina Hernández as an individual, as well as two bronze, which were obtained in mini-baby and in individual benjamin for Sara Fresno.
A competition that, in the words of their coach, María del Mar Montoya, was very tough as on the circuit organised by the Provincial Council they come up against the best teams from Almería in all the categories and in which they competed, in each one, against 25 teams from different parts of the province.
Very well-deserved medals that are the result of the effort they make year-round with the help of their coach: “We are very happy and proud of the work of the entire team, both the coaches and the girls.”
With almost no time to savour success, the final will be on the 14th of April in Balanegra, in Berja, where our girls will, for sure, also gain excellent results.
Nevertheless, there remain important aims on the Mojácar municipal rhythmic gymnastics team’s calendar. 2024 will be the year in which they will try to be at the Andalucian Championship next year and take part again in the Costa de Almería Cup organised by the EDM Costarítmica.
The students of the Mojácar rhythmic gymnastics team, part of the Municipal Sports School, have successfully started the 2024 competition season.
The Mojácar team has seen a great evolution since its creation three years ago. From the 20 girls with whom María del Mar Montoya started working, it has reached more than 70 students on this course, with ages ranging from three years old for the youngest to 15 for the oldest, which has made it necessary to take on another coach to work with Marimar, as she is affectionately known by her pupils.
These young athletes began preparing for the season in October last year, following two open days on which many of those interested went along to the sports hall to find out about the activities, days and routines the gymnasts will keep throughout the course.
The team ended the previous season with a staggering winning record. A total of 24 medals for a team that is beginning to have deserved consideration in the world of rhythmic gymnastics and in which the ceiling for successes and medals is yet to be defined, but which will, without a doubt, be very high.

The Mojácar Rhythmic Gymnastics team continues to achieve success in every competition in which its students take part.
