The final of the \u201cAl-Mosaquer\u201d II National Moors and Christians Marches Composition Concert was held in Moj\u00e1car, organised by the Moj\u00e1car Association of Moors and Christians and Moj\u00e1car Council which, in this edition, was dedicated to the Christian march form.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The locality’s Municipal Music Band, directed by Miguel \u00c1ngel Miranda, performed the four finalist marches: \u201cBellum Chistianum\u201d, \u201cDaga\u201d, \u201cDeus Vult\u201d and \u201cTierra del Indalo\u201d.
\nThe jury, present at the concert and following a long deliberation, proclaimed the work titled \u201cDaga\u201d as the winner of this II Composition Concert, awarded 1,000 euros, given by the Al-Mosaquer Association, and composed by Eugenio Llopis. This work will be integrated into the music repertoire at the Moors and Christians festivities under the name \u201cMoj\u00e1car Cristiana\u201d.
\nSecond place and awarded 500 euros, given by Moj\u00e1car Council, went to \u201cDeus Vult\u201d, composed by Marcos S\u00e1nchez Mateos and which will also be incorporated into the festival repertoire under the name \u201cCapit\u00e1n Garcilaso\u201d.
\nThe names of the winning marches were announced by the jury to the audience following the performance of all the finalists, valuing the originality and quality of the composition within the accessibility of its performance, which will generally be performed in motion, accompanying the parade.
\nThe members of the jury were made up of the \u201cAl-Mosaquer\u201d General Association of Moors and Christians president, Emilio Egea Gea; Moj\u00e1car Council Culture Councillor, Noem\u00ed Linares; the competition director and Garrucha\u2019s \u201cEx Mari Orta\u201d Municipal School of Music teacher, Gin\u00e9s Gallardo Jerez; director of the Moj\u00e1car Music Band and teacher at the Moj\u00e1car Municipal Music School, Miguel \u00c1ngel Miranda; and Andr\u00e9s Galera Cano, director of the \u201cEl Castillo de Ser\u00f3n\u201d Music Band, teacher at the Purchena and T\u00edjola music schools and member of the Andalusian Federation of Bands (FEDERBAND), Almer\u00eda Delegation.
\nWith the compositions awarded in this II Composition Competition, the musical repertoire of the Moj\u00e1car Moors and Christians Festivities, one of the most important festivals celebrated in the locality, is increasing.
\nThe first edition, in 2022, was dedicated to the Moorish marches, incorporating the composition of its winner, \u00c1ngel L\u00f3pez Montesinos, under the name \u201cMora March\u201d.
\nIt is expected that both the Al-Mosaquer Association and Moj\u00e1car Council will continue to organise more competitions, enriching the cultural and tourist character, as well as the value, of these festivities, for which the declaration of Tourist Interest of Andalucia is now underway.
\nIt is worth noting that the Moj\u00e1car Moors and Christians festivities were celebrated in the 17th century, as a commemoration of the incorporation of the locality into the kingdom of the Catholic Monarchs. Following its loss over time, it was in 1988, on the occasion of the commemoration of the V Centenary of the Capitulations and the Meeting of Two Cultures, when Moj\u00e1car recovered its Moors and Christians festivities.
\nSince then, the event has become an unavoidable event in which an entire town takes part, becoming one of the most important and popular in the whole province.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
