Moj\u00e1car Council has officially raised the five Blue Flags<\/strong> that will fly this summer on the beaches of Marina de la Torre, El Cantal, Lance Nuevo, El Descargador and Venta del Bancal-Ventanicas, reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to tourism excellence, sustainability and the protection of the coastal environment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The institutional act was attended by the municipal council, headed by Mayor Francisco Garc\u00eda Cerd\u00e1, the Tourism Councillor, Mar\u00eda Gracia Alarc\u00f3n Garc\u00eda, and the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda\u2019s territorial delegate for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Juan Jos\u00e9 Alonso.<\/p>\n

These recognitions, awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), endorse the quality of the water, safety, services and environmental management of the Moj\u00e1car coastline. They are the result of institutional commitment and collective efforts to maintain safe, accessible beaches which respect the natural environment.<\/p>\n

“This year we have added one more Blue Flag than in the previous edition, which demonstrates Moj\u00e1car’s constant progress toward a quality and sustainable tourism model<\/em>“, highlighted Mayor Francisco Garc\u00eda Cerd\u00e1<\/strong>. “It is an achievement shared by the whole municipality, from technical services to the tourism sector and the residents themselves.”<\/em><\/p>\n

As well as the Blue Flags, Moj\u00e1car has also received the Q for Tourism Quality<\/strong> and S for Sustainable Tourism<\/strong> distinctions, awarded by the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE). These certifications reinforce the municipality’s excellence in the management of its tourism services and position it as a benchmark in environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n

The municipality also maintains its membership of the SICTED (Comprehensive System for Tourism Quality in Destinations), which promotes public-private coordination and the professionalisation of the sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don’t just have award-winning beaches: we have a destination that offers culture, nature, sports and a quality infrastructure that operates 12 months a year,\u201d<\/em> emphasized the Tourism Councillor, Mar\u00eda Gracia Alarc\u00f3n Garc\u00eda.<\/strong> \u201cThese certifications encourage us to continue growing in an orderly way, taking care of both the environment and the visitor experience.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

With a 17-kilometre coastline that combines well-equipped urban areas and unspoiled natural spaces, Moj\u00e1car heads into summer 2025 with excellent prospects. Forecasts point to high tourist occupancy during July and August, with a strong presence of national and European visitors.<\/p>\n

The Local Council has strengthened its summer programme with cultural, sports and festive activities that consolidate the municipality as one of the main tourist destinations on the Almer\u00eda coast.<\/p>\n
