Moj\u00e1car Pueblo enjoyed one of its best loved Christmas events yesterday with the celebration of the traditional \u201cAguinaldo Moj\u00e1quero\u201d<\/strong>, (Moj\u00e1car Christmas carols), a deeply rooted custom that once again brought together residents and visitors around folk music and singing in the streets and squares of the municipality.<\/p>\n

The route, which began at the Mariquita la Pos\u00e1 Cave<\/strong>, took the group around various streets and squares of the old town, with many people joining in. The sound of the municipality\u2019s traditional Christmas carols and the participation of the public turned the night into a collective celebration that once again demonstrated the deep-rooted nature of this tradition in Moj\u00e1car.<\/p>\n

The Mayor of Moj\u00e1car, Francisco Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, underlined the importance of keeping these traditions alive: \u201cThe Aguinaldo is part of our identity as a village. Seeing how the streets fill with people, music and excitement every year is proof that our traditions are still very much alive and continue to unite generations.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Culture Councillor, Noem\u00ed Linares<\/strong>, accompanied the group throughout the procession and praised the lively atmosphere: \u201cIt was a wonderful evening, with great participation and a fantastic atmosphere in every corner of the village. It\u2019s moving to see how residents and visitors join in, sing, and enjoy together a tradition that we feel is very much our own.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

This year the Aguinaldo also had the collaboration of the<\/strong> Mariquita la Pos\u00e1 Women\u2019s Association<\/strong>, whose involvement was fundamental both in the organisation and in accompanying along the route, helping to keep this custom alive and reinforcing the community spirit of the event.<\/p>\n

With initiatives like the Aguinaldo, Moj\u00e1car continues backing a Christmas that combines tradition, culture and community spirit.<\/p>\n

The municipality will continue celebrating this time of year with an extensive Christmas programme, which includes children’s activities, workshops for adults, zambomba flamenco, musical shows and numerous proposals designed for all audiences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
