{"id":5529,"date":"2017-04-07T09:56:50","date_gmt":"2017-04-07T07:56:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/mojacar-abre-semana-santa-concierto-musica-sacra\/"},"modified":"2017-04-07T10:01:26","modified_gmt":"2017-04-07T08:01:26","slug":"mojacar-starts-off-semana-santa-with-concert-of-sacred-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/mojacar-starts-off-semana-santa-with-concert-of-sacred-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Moj\u00e1car starts off semana santa with a concert of sacred music"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><em><strong>The Easter activities programmed by Moj\u00e1car Council for this year\u2019s Semana Santa (Holy Week) start with a concert of Sacred Music performed by the Town\u2019s Municipal Band.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On Saturday April 8 at 9 pm, the Municipal Band will play a wide selection of the best religious music compositions in Moj\u00e1car\u2019s Santa Mar\u00eda Parish Church.<\/p>\n<p>The concert will feature some of the most well-known classical themes of Semana Santa including works by Eloy Garc\u00eda L\u00f3pez, Mart\u00edn Salas, Miguel S\u00e1nchez Ruzafa, V\u00edctor Manuel Ferrer and Jos\u00e9 V\u00e9lez, with titles such as \u201cAlma de Trinidad\u201d, \u201cCostalero\u201d, \u201cPalio Blanco\u201d, \u201cMi Amargura\u201d, \u201cLa \u00daltima Noche\u201d and \u201cMesopotamia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Under the baton of Band Director, Miguel \u00c1ngel Miranda, the seventy performers will include many new young musicians who will play for the first time in public and become fully integrated into the musical group.<\/p>\n<p>Solos will be performed by Luisa Casta\u00f1o on flute, Ana Montoya Garc\u00eda on clarinet and Marlene Diene on alto saxophone with percussion by Francisco Gonz\u00e1lez, Andr\u00e9s Contreras and David Martinez. The standard bearers will be Aar\u00f3n Garc\u00eda, Daniel Flores and Manuel Torres.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Moj\u00e1car Town Band is composed of very young musicians with an average age 15, they still manage to be among the best in the province of Almeria.<\/p>\n<p>With the unconditional support of Moj\u00e1car Town Council since its foundation in 2002, this young group of musicians collaborates in all the local events.
