{"id":6169,"date":"2017-08-01T09:11:02","date_gmt":"2017-08-01T07:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/?p=6169"},"modified":"2017-08-01T09:13:10","modified_gmt":"2017-08-01T07:13:10","slug":"lifeguards-simulate-rescue-on-mojacar-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/lifeguards-simulate-rescue-on-mojacar-beach\/","title":{"rendered":"Lifeguards simulate rescue on Mojacar Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p> Lifeguards simulate rescue on Mojacar Beach<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Osa\u00efa Reding, Junior World Kitesurfing Champion, was \u2018saved\u2019 this weekend by Moj\u00e1car\u2019s lifeguards in a simulated rescue, the first one in a series planned throughout the summer for the town\u2019s beaches. Moj\u00e1car Council and EBONE, the contracted organisation for beach rescue services, are carrying out these practical exercises so that the lifeguards\u2019 skills can be evaluated and to make sure they are kept ready for action. <\/p>\n<p>In this first simulation, both EBONE and the Council were very pleased with the lifeguards speed and efficiency, which are so vital in the event of any real emergency. The Moj\u00e1car team wanted Osa\u00efa to play a major part in this first role play as a small tribute for her recent success on becoming World Champion. As usual, she was full of fun and played the \u2018model victim\u2019, saying that \u201calthough it was very difficult for me to drown, it was still very amusing\u201d. From the moment they could see she was \u2018in trouble\u2019, two rescue workers immediately rescued her from the water and in 5 minutes she was on land being resuscitated.  From being spotted by the guard in the watch tower, anyone in difficulty can be pulled from the water, receive treatment and be carried onto the ambulance in barely 10 minutes, whilst immediate contact is made with local police, so that they can ensure a rapid transfer whatever the traffic conditions.  <\/p>\n<p>Junior Lifeguard is another activity co-ordinated by Moj\u00e1car Council and EBONE throughout the summer, with the aim of making beach goers aware of the need to follow the guards\u2019 instructions and to respect the different coloured flags that show the sea\u2019s level of safety for bathing.
