{"id":7503,"date":"2018-04-19T10:23:33","date_gmt":"2018-04-19T08:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/?p=7503"},"modified":"2018-04-19T10:24:41","modified_gmt":"2018-04-19T08:24:41","slug":"mojacar-hosts-almerias-first-provincial-cycling-race-of-the-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/mojacar-hosts-almerias-first-provincial-cycling-race-of-the-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Moj\u00e1car hosts Almer\u00eda\u00b4s first provincial cycling race of the season."},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>&#8220;La Mojaquera&#8221;, the first cycling race of the season, was held in Moj\u00e1car on Sunday 15th April, as part of Almer\u00eda\u2019s Provincial Circuit and the Ranquin Andaluz BTT Marathon 2018.  \t<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>175 participants from all over Spain and Europe set off from the town\u2019s football ground, with a 75 km ride ahead of them, including 2300 metres of ascent<\/p>\n<p>The route, which passed through Turre and Carboneras as well as Moj\u00e1car, was mainly on dirt roads, tracks, river beds and trails.  Organized by the local Council\u2019s Sports Department and Club Moj\u00e1car Bike CCD, it is one of the toughest on the circuit and one that the contestants particularly enjoy because of the fabulous scenery as well as good organisation.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00edctor Manuel Fern\u00e1ndez from the Wolfbike Team, last year\u2019s champion, took his place at the starting line and fulfilled all predictions by coming first with a time of 3:13:12 in a close and exciting final leg with Francisco Garc\u00eda Rus from the Gsport-Wolbike team, who finished second only a couple of seconds behind.<\/p>\n<p>Almer\u00edan Mauricio Gonzalez Jaramillo, from the Oxigenbike Team, took third place with 3:14:43 whilst Estonian Janika Loiv was the women&#8217;s champion with a time of 3:50:12, followed by Spanish Almudena Jim\u00e9nez Martinez.<\/p>\n<p>There were ladies and mens awards in all categories as well as a junior prize, won by Juan Alberto Espinar S\u00e1nchez.
