Next Thursday, 26th July 2018, Moj\u00e1car will once again hold its \u00b4Noche de las Velas\u00b4, an event nobody wants to miss, when Moj\u00e1car shines under the stars illuminated totally by candlelight.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At dusk, the lighting in the town, including many local businesses, will be switched off to give way to the flickering light of white candles that will flood the historic old town\u00b4s streets, windows and facades.
\nTo stroll through the streets of one of the most beautiful towns in Spain in this beautiful lighting is not only a treat to the eyes, but also, it\u00b4s a great chance to enjoy a variety of top standard musicians and entertainment for everyone at the different beauty spots and squares.
\nMUSIC IN THE CANDLELIGHT
\nFrom 10 p.m. onwards, the pianist Rosario Almansa will play again this year at the foot of the Cueva Mariquita la Pos\u00e1. The violin and the guitar of \u00b4Monica and Sus Amigos\u00b4 will liven up the Plaza de las Flores, while \u00b4Shirin\u00b4 the oriental dancer will transport the crowd to the 1001 Arabian Nights in the Plaza del Parterre. Meanwhile, the Plaza del Front\u00f3n will move to the reggae rhythm of the group “Efecto Sur”, with other musicians and jugglers strolling through the town\u00b4s streets, ending up at the Plaza Nueva.
\nTELESCOPES AND MOSAICS<\/p>\n

This magical night will present the perfect time to look out to the skies, when stargazing is especially interesting. At the Mirador del Castillo, there will be several telescopes placed for everyone to use, free of charge.
\nAlso on this wonderful night, there will be a chance to join together with the creation of two candle mosaics placed in the Plaza del Front\u00f3n and Calle Glorieta.<\/p>\n

SPECIAL EVENT PUBLIC TRANSPORT
\nThe town\u00b4s transport department has a special public transport plan for “Noche de las Velas 2018”, which will start at 7 p.m. that evening and go through until 4 a.m.
\nMore than 20 buses will serve the route stops along Moj\u00e1car Playa to facilitate access to the Pueblo, with coordinated direct lines going up and down, as well as shuttles from the Pueblo to the Parque Comercial, designed to speed up travel. To quicken bus ticket purchase, they will be on sale at different kiosks set up at the busiest points along the route including: Hotel Indalo, Hotel Pueblo Indalo, Parque Comercial (by the biosaludable outdoor gym), the Petrol Station, The Avenida Encamp and Marina de la Torre.
\nAlso, and given the popularity of the event, it has been decided to improve the public transport service by prohibiting the access of private vehicles to the Pueblo from 7 p.m. which will affect the Avenida Encamp, Avenida Paris, Calle Glorieta as well as the Pueblo, a similar strategy to the one in place for the Moors and Christians parade.
\nBoth the routes and extra lines have been put in place to give greater flexibility to the public transport service and reduce the waiting time for everyone travelling up and down to the Pueblo. To assist this, the ticket sales kiosks will be kept informed about the most suitable route and lines, so that users wanting to go up to the Pueblo and later return to their place of residence can be given clear information about which bus to take.
\nAdditionally, the taxi service will be reinforced that night, which can be easily contacted by ringing the Tele Taxi number, 950 888 111.<\/p>\n

PUBLICITY
\nThe Council, through its Tourism Department, has carried out a massive publicity campaign about the event, through its websites, newsletters, social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.) with posters appearing on the coaches and buses of the region\u00b4s main transport companies.<\/p>\n
