{"id":9061,"date":"2019-01-18T14:41:58","date_gmt":"2019-01-18T12:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/?p=9061"},"modified":"2019-01-18T14:41:58","modified_gmt":"2019-01-18T12:41:58","slug":"watercolours-on-show-mojacar-art-gallery-la-fuente","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/watercolours-on-show-mojacar-art-gallery-la-fuente\/","title":{"rendered":"Watercolours on show at Moj\u00e1car\u00b4s &#8220;La Fuente&#8221; Art Gallery"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The Almer\u00eda \u2018Asociaci\u00f3n de Acuarelistas\u2019 are currently exhibiting a selection of their watercolours throughout January at Moj\u00e1car\u2019s La Fuente Art Gallery, with more than 32 works by ten of the group\u2019s artists on show.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The painting technique of watercolour is the star, a style which is difficult, yet at the same time versatile and, one which offers the painter a great deal of expression.<br \/>\nPicturesque places around Almer\u00eda and Moj\u00e1car, still life and portraits all take their place, with the light and the province\u2019s unique atmosphere emphasised by these talented water-colourists.<\/p>\n<p>Teresa N\u00e1jera, one of the Association\u2019s painter members, has returned to the town to exhibit, after having made a very successful solo show in this same hall in December.  Teresa divides her time and painting between her native Logro\u00f1o and Moj\u00e1car and, her decorative training has led to her now dedicating herself completely to this great art passion.<\/p>\n<p>Although skilled in all techniques, watercolour is her preferred medium, working alongside great world class artists such as \u00c1lvaro Castagnet and Manuel Jim\u00e9nez, amongst others.<\/p>\n<p>The Almer\u00eda \u2018Asociaci\u00f3n de Acuarelistas\u2019 is a cultural, non-profit making group which was founded on March 28th.  2008, with the main aim of promoting and exhibiting watercolour painting, especially within this region.<\/p>\n<p>The group organise numerous projects throughout the year including exhibitions, courses, illustration of publications, painting awards and many other initiatives that make it one of the most active associations in the province. They have a strong membership, which include the renowned Almer\u00edan painter, Julio Visconti, who is an honorary member and \u2018alma mater\u2019 of the group.<\/p>\n<p>Moj\u00e1car\u2019s Culture Councillor, Raquel Belmonte, was at the exhibition\u2019s inauguration and was delighted with the high level of artists and their work on display.
