{"id":9210,"date":"2019-03-19T09:21:25","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T07:21:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/mojaquera-xtreme-2019-vencedor-jesus-del-nero\/"},"modified":"2019-03-20T09:35:57","modified_gmt":"2019-03-20T07:35:57","slug":"mojaquera-xtreme-2019-wins-jesus-del-nero","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/mojaquera-xtreme-2019-wins-jesus-del-nero\/","title":{"rendered":"Jes\u00fas del Nero Wins 2019 La Mojaquera Xtreme"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The 8th La Mojaquera\/Sierra Cabrera Xtreme cycling race was held last weekend in Moj\u00e1car and, was the first round of Almer\u00eda\u2019s Provincial 2019 BTT Marathon Circuit, which is part of the overall Ranking Andaluz.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>400 racers set off at 8 a.m. in a high early morning temperature of 14\u00bac to start the hardest and most demanding test of the mountain bike circuit.  The winding \u2018snake\u2019 of multicoloured riders headed towards the challenging Sierra de Cabrera, which participants described as being a part of the circuit full of thrills and danger for those with nerve to enjoy it.<br \/>\n\tThe Director of Moj\u00e1carBike CCD Club, Gerardo Mart\u00ednez Cabello, quoted their motto &#8220;there is no pain&#8221;, but in truth the day demanded an extra effort as the temperatures rose to 25\u00bac by 2 p.m.<br \/>\nJes\u00fas del Nero, from the Primaflor Mondraker Raci Club was first to cross the finish line after completing the 75 kms in 3 hours and 35 minutes, averaging 20 km per hour.  Julieta Escudero, from Club AlboxBike, won the women&#8217;s category, with a time of five hours and an average hourly speed of 15 km.<br \/>\n\tDespite the arduous nature of the route, the race passed without incident, although the refreshment points and the extra water supplies were welcomed with greater frequency by the cyclists, due to the extreme heat on the day.<br \/>\nMoj\u00e1car Council, who had organized the event together with Moj\u00e1carBike Club, sent along their Sport\u2019s Councillor, Ana Garc\u00eda, who saw at first hand the efforts of the athletes whilst helping out at the refreshment stations.
