{"id":9374,"date":"2019-04-25T17:37:36","date_gmt":"2019-04-25T15:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/?p=9374"},"modified":"2019-04-25T17:38:16","modified_gmt":"2019-04-25T15:38:16","slug":"easter-starts-off-mojacars-busy-tourist-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/easter-starts-off-mojacars-busy-tourist-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Easter starts off Moj\u00e1car\u00b4s busy tourist season."},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Moj\u00e1car has kicked off this year\u2019s high season with a busy Easter, despite some inclement weather, with visitors staying on average four nights, mainly over the bank holiday weekend.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nThe hotels registering the higher occupancy were the four star, front line establishments, that successfully hung up the \u2018fully booked\u2019 signs, along with some of the quaint hotels in Moj\u00e1car\u2019s Old Town.<br \/>\nMoj\u00e1car can accommodate over 15,000 people in registered tourist establishments spread over its 37 hotels and hostals of different categories, 9 apartment complexes, 870 registered private rentals, 4 rural guest houses and 4 camping parks.  Also there were many additional people that were holidaying in their own apartments and second homes throughout the town.<br \/>\n\tThe Tourism Office dealt personally with 2,342 people just over the Easter weekend, although since March there has been a significant rise in enquiries by telephone, email and through social networks.   This period also saw higher traffic on Moj\u00e1car&#8217;s tourism website, which was visited 10,454 times in March and 20,000 times from the start of April to the Easter weekend.<br \/>\nFacebook is the town\u00b4s most used social network for information and its \u2018Moj\u00e1car Turismo\u2019 page has 44,000 loyal followers looking at their daily posts, especially busy at certain times of the year when there are special events.<br \/>\nMoj\u00e1car Council\u00b4s Tourism Department also manages Twitter and Instagram accounts, whilst the \u2018Moj\u00e1car Informa\u2019 Facebook page posts the Council&#8217;s cultural events as well as official information.  There is also the \u2018Moj\u00e1car Ofertas\u00b4 page which publicises offers from the town\u00b4s hotels and commercial establishments.<br \/>\n\tAs Moj\u00e1car is part of the network of the \u2018Most Beautiful Villages and Towns in Spain\u2019, there is the opportunity to share information through their website and dissemination systems, helping Moj\u00e1car to be one of the most sought after destinations in Almer\u00eda.<br \/>\n\tVisitors came to Moj\u00e1car from all over the world during the Easter period along with many Spanish travellers, with the majority of those  coming from the Madrid and Valencia regions.
