Mojácar hosts Second Literary and Cultural Event

Mojácar’s Second Literary and Cultural Conference, which will take place this weekend at the town’s National Parador Hotel, was presented earlier this week to Almería’s media at the city’s Hotel Catedral.

Conference President, Francisco López Barrios, along with leading speaker, Alfonso Berlanga, outlined the programme, its objectives and the participants that would be attending this important cultural event.
The Cultural Association of Levante Almeriense, ACLA, who have organized the weekend’s activities, will be keeping up the same high standard of speakers as in the first year, this year fixing its attentions on Europe and the dissemination of Spanish cultural works in the European context. Throughout the weekend, the programme events and discussion groups will be open to public participation with the chance to ask questions.
Starting today, there will be an official visit to Mojácar Town Hall. Mojácar Council is a sponsor of the Conference along with the National Parador and leading Almerían business people.
The town’s Mayor, Rosmari Cano, will be there to welcome the participants, among which are prominent personalities from Andalucía and the province, including the former European Parliament Communications Director, prominent writers, and the well-known diplomat and writer, Inocencio Arias.

Others confirming their presence at the official opening are Antonio José Lucas, General Director of Culture and Book Innovation as well as Antonio Sánchez Trigueros, Granada University Professor, ACLA advisory member for this Conference and this year’s Indalo de Las Letras.

The first working sessions will be at 5.30 p.m. today in the Parador’s conference room. José Antonio Santano will be act as moderator and the presentations will be by Manuel Gahete, President of the Spain Writers Association, Charo Fernández Cotta, the Andalucían Government’s Head of Press and, Luis Salvador, spokesman for the Granada Congress.
