Mojácar strengthens work-life balance with its Summer School and Summer Sports

The Mojácar Summer School has opened its doors this week with a team of 12 instructors, while, at the same time, the Summer Sports programme has begun on Descargador Beach.

Organised by the Mojácar Council Education Department, in collaboration with the Almería Provincial Council Social Services, this dual programme offers families a morning and afternoon service to facilitate the organisation of summer without giving up educational leisure and sport. Its objectives include providing a safe space, encouraging healthy lifestyle habits and promoting intergenerational coexistence.

Twelve instructors, together with swimming and music teachers, guarantee personalised, high-quality attention in each activity, promoting learning and fun for more than 150 Summer School students.

Francisco García, Mayor of Mojácar; Noemí Linares, Education and Equality Councillor; and Jesús Montoya, Sports Councillor, visited the facilities on the first day to seen first-hand how both programmes are being put into practice:
“We know that many families face the challenge of balancing work and family life during the holidays, and that’s why we’ve designed a plan that not only offers fun and educational activities, but also a safe, supervised environment where children can grow and learn every day. The success of this initiative lies in combining the efforts of a team of 12 specialised instructors with the quality of the workshops and sessions we offer,” commented Francisco García Cerdá, Mayor of Mojácar.

“The Summer School not only offers fun activities, it’s an opportunity for children to develop their creativity, work as a team and learn the values of respect and solidarity,” added Noemí Linares, Education Councillor.

“In the afternoons, the Summer Sports turn the Descargador Beach into a meeting point for sports, socialising and enjoyment for everyone taking part at sunset,” the councillor concluded.

With these two offers, Mojácar’s mornings and afternoons are filled with life, learning, and sport, reinforcing the essence of the municipality: a destination that looks after its families and celebrates its natural and social resources.
