Route from Sopalmo to Adelfa
Distance (round trip): 14 km. Route Type: Hiking and cycling. Difficulty: medium
Take the road from Mojácar Beach in the direction of Carboneras. Keep going until the Sopalmo district , where you can park. On the left hand side take the track which is asphalted at the beginning, and which goes past the farmhouses. Keep going -it becomes a dirt track- until you get to a place called “El Mayoral”.
We go upwards to a height of 408 meters. Keep going up until you arrive at a place called “La Cuerda del Coscojar”. There, you are at an altitude of 656, 17 yards, and will now go by “La Mina de La Paloma”. This is a pleasant spot where you can rake a break, enjoy the great view and get ready to keep on the ascent leading you to the “Cerro de La Mina”.
A little further on you come to “la Rambla de La Adelfa” and, a few metres higher, at around 742 metres, you you get to our destination, the “Cerro de Adelfa”. When back on the same way, you will enjoy the landscape and the view.
