Lorenzo Silva will present his latest work “Púa” in Mojácar

The Spanish writer Lorenzo Silva will be in Mojácar next Wednesday 15th of November to present his latest book, “Púa”.

At 7.30pm in the Multi-uses Centre, Lorenzo Silva will present his new work and will be able to chat with those attending and sign copies of his works. Entrance is free.
His visit is part of the “Mojácar, Literary Space” cycle with which the Local Council, through the Culture Department, is bringing the best Spanish-speaking writers to the locality.
Lorenzo Silva has been awarded numerous literary prizes, among which could be highlighted the Nadal Prize, obtained on two occasions, the Planeta Award and the Grand Cross of the Order of the Second of May, among other distinctions.
Although he has been the author of many stories, articles and essays, he is best known for his novels, mainly those in which appear what are perhaps his most famous characters: the Civil Guard couple formed by Sergeant Bevilacqua and Agent Chamorro and which have earned him the designation of Honorary Civil Guard.
Another of his works, “La flaqueza del Bolshevik” (The weakness of the Bolshevik), with which he was also a Nadal finalist, has been adapted to the big screen by director Manuel Martín Cuenca.
So far, the “Mojácar Literary Space” cycle has received visits from important personalities such as Carmen Mola, the pseudonym with which the writers Jorge Díaz, Agustín Martinez and Antonio Mercero won the Planeta Prize in 2021, as well as the well-known writer Julia Navarro, one of the writers with the most bestsellers, published in more than 30 countries and with more than one million copies sold.
The interest in and love for reading, both in the municipality and in the region, is evident in the great success and large attendance by the public that both presentations registered for the visits to Mojácar by these writers.
With this cycle Mojácar Council aims to bring literature, books and their authors to the Levante Almería region, offering the possibility of meeting in person the most relevant authors of current literature in Spain.
There remain important signings in the pipeline with which Local Council is finalising dates for future presentations in the locality of the most relevant works coming onto the market.
Mojácar, with a great tradition in the world of culture in all areas, has become the meeting point of Spanish literature in the region
