As part of the important campaign that Mojácar Council has organised through the Tourism and Environment Departments for the respect and correct use of the municipality’s beaches, coastline and environment, the beaches of Mojácar have become the setting for awareness-raising days organised by the local authority and the company in charge of monitoring the beaches during the 2023 summer season.

This specific campaign is mainly aimed at the very youngest, although many parents and adults are also encouraged to take part, the work of the lifeguards being shown and the little ones shown steps to take in the event of a problem, and always alerting, in the first place, the professionals, adults or calling 112, the emergency telephone number.
With a great reception by the children, the lifeguards demonstrated their work in the monitoring of the beaches: first-aid, watching out for their maintenance and respect for the rules established for the correct use of bathing in the sea.
They also organised drawing and recycling workshops, a lifeguard for a day workshop, a waste collection workshop, and as a final touch, gifts and prizes for everyone.
Mojácar’s beaches are monitored by 38 lifeguards who watch out for everyone’s safety. For the 2023 season, the period of daily work has been extended to nearly the end of September and weekends for the whole of October.
“Cooperation 2005” is the company in charge of this work and has for five consecutive years been responsible for the monitoring, assistance, rescue and first-aid on the locality’s beaches.
According to its managers, the bathing season in Mojácar is going by calmly and without any important incident, as the beaches of the locality are calm and safe for the bather.
They also point to the increase in bathers’ respect for bathing rules, on following the flags which indicate the state of the sea and the lifeguards’ instructions.
Equally noteworthy is Mojácar Council’s effort to provide the best services and equipment to its beaches with the aim of it being a quiet and ideal destination for families and all kinds of summer holidaymakers
