Madrid artist, Javier Torras, exhibits in Mojácar.
An exhibition of paintings by Madrid artist Javier Torras has been inaugurated at the “La Fuente” Municipal Art Centre in Mojácar.
Torras did higher studies in architecture, changing, in the early years to E.G.B. (Basic General Education) Science Teacher Training.
He trained at the painting workshop of well-known painter Manuel Coronado, paying for his studies as a graphic designer.
His life takes an important turn when, abandoning everything, he retires to an Andalucía village and sets out on a path of inner knowledge and introspection.
He begins to paint in a meditative state, from which arises, as if by magic, the worlds, beings and realities of other dimensions which characterise his work.
Since 1992, his canvasses have travelled throughout Spain in individual and collective exhibitions, many of them in Almería and Mojácar, where his work is highly appreciated. He has also participated in Europ´Art in Switzerland, at which he had great success.
Mojácar Council Culture Councillor Raquel Belmonte attended the inauguration, where she was able to take a look around the exhibition with the artist and enjoy his explanations of the works on show.
Many members of the public did not want to miss this inauguration either and could enjoy looking at the highly colourful and spectacular works in the exhibition, and appreciate their beauty.
The exhibition remains in Mojácar until 29th May, open free of charge to the public Wednesday to Friday, from 10am to 1pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 2pm.
